I thought after making 2 posts about it, and considering a third, I’d create a page about the things I’m doing (and learning) about various API’s. I’ll keep it brief but questions are welcome in the comments…as always! :) Keep an eye here as I’ll be updating it with each creation that I make with any API.

360voice Watch List Details
Style by swordfischer
This time, we have a page that analyses your watchers and those you watch into a neat 3-column table to let you know your mutual watchers, who you are watching that isn’t watching you, and who’s watching you that you’re not watching! I’ve built support for multiple accounts into it, but currently I am the only one able to have multiple accounts, lol! I’ll be changing this very shortly! :) Anyway, here it is:

As usual, replace my gamertag with yours to see your own

Gamerscore Increase Streak Image
Another image made using the 360voice API. This time, it calculates how many days in a row you have been increasing your gamerscore. Most people over there will know about the play streak, but I wanted a different way to show that I not only play every day, but I increase my gamerscore every day. Check it out below

Just replace my gamertag with yours, to get your own increase streak image :)

Gaming Streak Gamerscore Increase Image
Following on from the previous image. I was asked to make an image for those ‘not so dedicated’ players who game every day, but don’t always get an achievement. It shows the amount of days your gaming streak is on (days you have played games in a row), and your gamerscore gain in that period of time. Check it out…

360voice Job Status Image
I made an image to show how the current day’s jobs are getting on over at 360voice using 360voice’s API. Check it out below.

This looks up your IP address and, using the hostip.info API, determines your co-ordinates, and from that what (should be) your local time zone. In some cases it wasn’t working correctly (due to proxies, confidential IP addresses, or inaccuracy in the hostip.info API - after all it is free!) so I have allowed definable GMT offsets. Basically, it the same image, except you specify the time zone:
360voice Job Status
http://stuff.soupyc.com/3vStatus/5 - GMT+5 offset

360voice Job Status
http://stuff.soupyc.com/3vStatus/PST - PST is special as it’s the original time reported by the API

360voice Job Status
http://stuff.soupyc.com/3vStatus/-5 - GMT-5 offset

And finally, the ability to see any date’s job status was added too. I’m not sure why…but it was easy enough to implement. This can also be combined with the offset feature above, or used without to calculate it by IP
360voice Job Status
http://stuff.soupyc.com/3vStatus/20080610 - Shows the job status for June 10th 2008, using your IP to calculate time

360voice Job Status RSS Feed
Following on from the status image above, Fshguy asked on the 360voice forums, would it be possible to have it as an RSS feed. I thought it might be daunting, but it turned out to be relatively simple thanks to some Google action! Check out the link to it here.

Twitter Status Image
My first image generation using an API was with the Twitter API. It was a real learning curve as I’d never done anything like it before, so I was really proud of what I’d accomplished. It doesn’t look like much though, lol!
