Gaming
I mentioned it earlier in the week, and now it’s happened. Last night I went out and bought myself a new Xbox 360 Elite (or E-light, as the sales assistant pronounced it, lol!) and it’s sweet. I was cautious about buying it in case I got a new ‘old’ one (i.e. 203W model) but I’m pleased to say mine is the newer 175W, and was actually only manufactured at the end of April! :) It took a while to get all my things transferred across, as I wanted to have my profile and save games on my new memory card, but leave my DLC and arcade games on the old 20GB HDD. After I got them moved onto memory card (about 2 hours later…) I then started up the Elite, and commenced downloading all my DLC and XBLA games. The whole process took another hour or so. I decided I would let it run ‘the big ones’, like the GRAW 2 and GoW packs, over-night, and download all the rest immediately. While downloading the XBLA games, I accidentally started up Pac Man, as apparently a trial version was already on the HDD. I quickly unlocked the full version I had bought some time ago, and thought I would try another attempt at the ‘Perfect’ (eat all four ghosts four times in one level) achievement that I’d tried several thousand* times previous. Guess what…I unlocked it…FIRST FREAKIN’ TRY!! At that moment, I knew this Elite was meant to be. Some may call it luck, others a co-incidence…for me, I know it was the power of the new console that helped me through it.** So now, my plan tonight is to play a lot on the new console, wear it in, and hopefully hear lots of ‘pings’ for all my wonderful achievements being unlocked!
